PROJECT TONI'S CLOSET

At Project Toni's Closet, we recognize that leaving a harmful domestic situation is a courageous and challenging decision. Our flagship crisis management support program is designed to step in where national and local agencies may fall short, providing comprehensive assistance beyond traditional measures.

Beyond Police Reports and Restraining Orders:
We understand the gravity of threats and the urgent need for intervention. Project Toni's Closet goes beyond conventional responses by taking threats seriously, acknowledging the nuanced challenges individuals face when escaping harmful environments.

Structured Support for Evasive Action:
Our structured program not only supports the decision to take evasive action against physical and societal threats but also emphasizes empowerment, transformation, and self-discovery. We believe in providing the tools and resources needed not just to escape but to build a foundation for a violence-free and fulfilling life.

Preventing the Return to Trauma:
Project Toni's Closet is committed to breaking the cycle of violence. Our program focuses on encouraging transformation and self-discovery, aiming to prevent the return to a violent or traumatic home life. We believe in offering more than immediate safety; we strive to foster long-term healing and empowerment.

The Red Bolt Bag and Narnia Bag:
To ensure discreet escapes for adults and children, we offer the Red Bolt Bag and the Narnia Bag, respectively. These carefully curated resources provide essential items for a safe and confidential departure, allowing individuals and families to leave harmful situations with the support they need.

Confidential services include:

temporary shelter/relocation support,
emergency mother and baby care,
family care/bereavement support,
counseling/ministry
temporary career placement.

Please remember, our services are not a substitute for emergencies; dial 9-1-1 in life-threatening situations. We collaborate with first responders and agencies like 2-1-1 to provide comprehensive support.

WORKING FAMILY SUPPORT GRANTS

Bridgesoure Grant: Assisting those just above the poverty level, our grants address short-term emergency expenses, preventing financial catastrophes that could lead to homelessness.

Employment Bridge Grant: Designed for those starting new jobs or returning to work, this grant provides support for the first 45-60 days, ensuring essentials are maintained during the critical transition period.

Emergency Bridge Grant: Responding to urgent needs, our emergency fund provides immediate assistance for time-sensitive situations like temporary relocation, transportation costs, child care, and essential payments during unforeseen circumstances.

Life Management Resources: Our low-fee Resource Directory tackles day-to-day challenges with a sliding scale or in-kind services, including eviction clinic/relocation support, legal services, living essentials, handyman/repair services, car maintenance/transportation, and credit repair/building.

Note: Our grants are designed to meet immediate needs without perpetuating crisis. Eligible clients engage in programs for a holistic transition to a sound quality of life, and we do not advocate interest-bearing loans.

A note about immediate assistance services: While we don't provide direct cash payments, we collaborate with partners to offer immediate services such as transportation support, rent payments, car repairs, hotel/motel vouchers, and utility/rental assistance.
